Maintenance Supervisor

WOODVILLE, Miss. – Troy Arbuthnot Jr. of Woodville has been promoted to Maintenance Supervisor at Wilkinson County Correctional Facility (WCCF).

Arbuthnot has been employed at the facility for over a year as a Maintenance Technician. In his new position, he directly supervises a crew of maintenance workers. He plans, coordinates and manages the administrative and maintenance services of the maintenance department.

“Mr. Arbuthnot, who has proven himself to be a hard worker and team player, is the ideal person for this position,” said Deputy Warden of Programs George Castro. “He is a consummate professional. His knowledge of the facility – and of the job, is a real asset.”

Castro said Arbuthnot is also known for his attention to detail. In addition to his technical aptitude, his skill set includes the ability to juggle multiple projects, and the drive to see things through, he said.

Arbuthnot is a 2014 graduate of Wilkinson County High School (WCHS). In 2017, he graduated from Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Natchez, with an associate degree in automation and controls.

Arbuthnot said he is grateful to have this opportunity. “It’s a blessing,” he said. “I get to come to work every day and do what I’ve been trained to do. I’m comfortable with the environment and I’m doing something that I really enjoy. I like the feeling of accomplishment when a project is completed.”

Arbuthnot said he also likes “being in a position to make a difference at the facility.”

WCCF houses 950 male offenders. It is privately managed by MTC or Management & Training Corporation of Utah.
