On Saturday, September 26, 2026, I had the privilege of
speaking at the Pilgrimage Garden Club Symposium, held in memory of the late
James McHenry Wade. The theme was “The People, River, and History that Shaped
Natchez.”
I was especially honored to meet Rev. Dr. Maurice J.
Nutt, a Catholic priest and the great-great-grandson of Haller and Julia Nutt
of Longwood.
It was a wonderful afternoon of sharing stories about the
people and history that have helped shape Natchez.
